



Over the past 18 years, the Portland Golf Show has become the Northwest’s longest-running consumer golf show, and one of the best-attended and most well-regarded consumer golf expos in the country.
Last year’s show continued to provide Rose City consumers with the kinds of unbeatable values, giveaways and other incentives that have made the Portland Golf Show a fixture on the regional golf calendar for nearly two decades. Over 9,000 attendees packed the hall at the Oregon Convention Center, a small increase over 2010 and one of the highest attendances in the show’s 18-year history.
This year’s golfer’s paradise included over $1 million of name-brand merchandise at the season’s lowest prices, a massive indoor driving range lined with representatives of the game’s biggest manufacturers, PGA professionals giving free lessons to all attendees, free clubs for kids, fun skills contests, incredible enter-to-win prize opportunities, and much more.
Varsity once again marketed the show via a $150,000 media campaign that included advertisements in print, television and radio, plus appearances and interviews by show organizers. In addition, e-mail blasts by local golf courses and other companies, plus a significant social media campaign, helped promote the show to new audiences.
The 2011 Portland Golf Show was made possible by the support of its sponsors, the volunteers who have given their time to the event over the years, the involvement of the exhibitors and enthusiasm of the golfing public.
A special thanks is also extended to the OGA, which brings not only 80 years of its own history to the event, but also the history of the United States Golf Association, for which they are the regional representative as the guardian of the game.
